IS Technology Specialist –Information Systems Purpose of Position An IS Technology Specialist is needed to join the Information Services team based in head office in Bedford, Nova Scotia . This role is part of the Infrastructure Services team that is responsible for all networks, servers, storage, desktop hardware, and security throughout Clearwater. As part of this team the Technology Specialist will be involved in planning, implementing and supporting technology in all of these areas. The successful candidate will have a strong technical competence, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small collaborative team – and “get the job done”. Customer service is very important at Clearwater and the successful candidate will make it a priority. Reporting Structure The Technology Specialist reports to the Manager IS Computing Services at the head office in Bedford. Duties and Responsibilities (Accountabilities) Provide ongoing support (and resolve escalated incidents) for all networks, servers, storage, firewall, security, and other technology. Plan, build, upgrade and deploy new network, server, etc. installations. Create and execute the desktop/laptop deployment process. Operate within ITIL-based Incident Management and Change Management processes. Stay informed of changes to IS systems/applications and general changes in the IT industry as a whole. Travel to other Clearwater locations within Atlantic Canada or internationally will be required occasionally. Participation in an on-call rotation is required, and some evening/weekend work may be required at times. Qualifications 5+ years experience supporting desktops, servers, networks, and/or security in a complex corporate environment. Strong knowledge of Windows Server and server/storage/client administration, monitoring and hardware. Good working knowledge of IP networks and technologies. Experience working in a manufacturing/plant or marine environment would be an asset.
